The St Mary’s Sunday School through the years engaged in many activities and regularly participated in the life of the church.  They celebrated in fun and in picnics and even camp outs.  At one time Burts Island Camp would signal the end of the school year and Sunday School Term.  Fun was had by all the children.

The Sunday School children regularly took part in the Family Eucharist Service during High holidays, like Easter and Christmas.  Whether performing a skit or singing a song, the congregation enjoyed their offering.

Whenever a baby was being christened the children of the Sunday School would flock to the baptismal font.  It was a tradition that they looked forward to.  During Archdeacon Andrew Doughty’s tenure at St Mary’s he would always first, invite the children to the font, and they would run with excitement to get there.  From an early age the children learned about the experience of one of the seven Holy Sacraments.
