Cathy Lord tells the story of her marriage to Darcy Lord at St Mary the Virgin Church
“Darcy and I wanted to get married in the church, but Darcy was a divorced, and at that time in Bermuda ( 1982) could not get married in the Anglican Church if you were divorced. So we asked for special permission of Archdeacon Thomas Dyson and we were given consideration and the approval to be married at St Mary’s.
We thought we would have a small quiet wedding on a Wednesday, but our friends and family all came and the church was full with people wishing us well.”
