The National Museum of Bermuda (NMB) is seeking a mission-driven, relationship-oriented full-time Advancement Associate Director to lead fundraising, membership and marketing efforts. The Advancement Associate Director will play a key role in shaping and implementing fundraising strategies that support NMB’s strategic priorities. Job Details

  • Develop and implement NMB’s fundraising strategies for Annual Fund, major gifts and capital initiatives;
  • Lead grant and proposal submissions, prospect research and donor stewardship;
  • Manage membership programmes, including cultivation, engagement, benefits and stewardship to enhance engagement and retention;
  • Oversee advertising and marketing initiatives
  • Design and implement outreach strategies to raise philanthropic support for NMB;
  • Plan and coordinate fundraising events and donor and community cultivation activities;
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and NMB Boards (Bermuda, US and UK) to provide ongoing support for fundraising initiatives, board engagement and public relations efforts, and
  • Maintain accurate donor and prospect records, including documentation of all donor interactions and fundraising activities, in NMB’s donor database and ensure compliance with ethical standards and in compliance with PIPA.

  • Bachelor’s degree (e.g., nonprofit management, museum studies, communications, marketing, business, or related fields);
  • 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or related fields preferred; open to professionals with transferable skills;
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and organisational skills;
  • Familiarity with fundraising CRM (Bloomerang a plus) and Microsoft Suite; strong spreadsheet skills required;
  • Working knowledge of grant proposal and report writing preferred;
  • Ability to work collaboratively and exercise a high degree of discretion;
  • Knowledge of current trends in both local and international philanthropy; and
  • Event production and logistics coordination a plus
