Where Does Your Story Begin? Explore Tracing Our Roots / Routes
Moving the Needle is NMB’s Teacher Professional Development Programme, designed to empower local educators with effective tools for teaching history in a dynamic and engaging way.
Workshop participants are provided with current historical research, primary historical sources, and practical activities to use in the classroom. In our interactive workshops, teachers unpack and explore these materials, gaining new insights and strategies to foster critical thinking, seeing multiple perspectives, and developing empathy in the classroom.
Join us for an interactive, fast-paced workshop exploring the Thinking Like a Historian framework – an approach that encourages students to analyse evidence, consider multiple perspectives, and develop critical thinking skills.
Using our Teacher Resource Guide, Freedom Narratives: Mary Prince, Benjamin Benson, and the Abolition of Slavery, you will engage in hands-on activities, examine historical sources, and experiment with inquiry-based techniques that make history relevant and dynamic for your students.
