Donate an Object

Much of the Museum’s collection has been acquired through generous individuals. At NMB, donated objects are recorded, preserved, and maintained to the best of our abilities.  

Before accepting an object donation, we evaluate if it is in line with our collection policy and take measures to ensure we have the necessary resources to properly care for and store the object(s). However, if we are unable to accept the item(s) we will suggest alternative recipients. Unfortunately, we cannot appraise the value of the donation or conduct appraisals on private collections.  

It’s important to note that the Museum does not derive any financial benefit from such gifts. In fact, by generously donating an object, you are entrusting us with the responsibility of caring for it indefinitely, and we want to ensure that you are aware of the associated costs, which can be substantial. Please consider graciously offering a financial gift so that we can continue to ensure that these cherished artifacts enrich the community and visitors alike.
