This might not be who you think of when you picture a Bermuda family but all creatures far and wide across Bermuda are part of our bigger family. These Top Shells are protected because too many were caught. It makes me happy to see the families of shells thriving in their natural rocky habitat. I took this photo at Grape Bay on a Saturday afternoon when I was exploring with my Grandad.
I was on the ferry one October morning and we were waiting for people to board at Cavello Bay. I turned around and grabbed my mom’s camera because the sunrise was so beautiful and you could see the roof outlines of the houses glowing in the early morning light. I took a lot of photographs because it was so pretty I wanted to remember it forever.
I call myself Nature Girl because I love being outside around nature. I was walking along the rocky shore at Grape Bay at low tide. I could see the Bleeding Tooth shells moving up along the rocks as the tide came in. They were leaving trails in the sand that looked like a map to follow. If you turn one over you will understand how the shell got it’s name.
The only way to see Bermuda’s true nature is to physically be there. I choose this photo because it represents a time where I was walking with my family. I stopped and looked and I never realized until this moment how beautiful Bermuda nature is in a different setting. Its setting has its own beauty to it you just have to find it. It wasn’t our blue ocean, or our pink sand, or the bright pink hibiscus plants or the bird of paradise or even a decadent garden. This photo means to me how all different nature has its own beauty.
Save the Monarch-y! I woke up one morning to find at least 5 monarch caterpillars eating these plants we planted last year! I took a lot of photos using my Dad's iPhone but this one is my most favourite. This caterpillar seems it's undecided if it will eat that flower or not.
I took this photo on a calm day, as I was strolling through my neighborhood with family: Dreamy Bermuda houses blanketed with nature and beautifully reflected in the still waters surrounding our stunning Island. It reminds me how lucky I am to live here.
I took this photo walking in my neighborhood: The natural beauty of this spot overlooking the crystal clear turquoise water. It also reminds me of the rich history of our island.
I chose the tunnel at Fort Hamilton because it is beautiful and I enjoy walking through it. The tunnels are very old and people built it for the war to protect Bermuda. The tunnels represent the theme of buildings because they are buildings built underground.
I chose this photo because it represents what my family and I like to do. My dad works a lot but when he gets the time off we do mini adventures on the islands beautiful nature walking routes. This photo captures the beauty of my new island home. I chose the Bermuda Nature theme because my photo captures the sun peaking through the trees and creating a beautiful scenery. This photo was take in the afternoon at Chaplin Bay
