My grandfather John Frederick Pitman was a warden at the Museum at the time when it was formerly the Bermuda Maritime Museum.  I have fond memories of him dressed in his best attire, best shoes and his favorite cap.  He took pride in his appearance.  He would travel on his mobillette bike, from Somerset to volunteer at the Museum.  He loved talking to visitors all about the history & heritage of Bermuda.  He was a war veteran and his name is listed on the wall at the Cabinet House.
