Where Does Your Story Begin? Explore Tracing Our Roots / Routes
Have you ever pondered over the old photographs tucked away in your home? Each image holds within it a story waiting to be shared. From posed portraits to candid snapshots, every photograph is a portal to a moment in time, a window into the lives of those captured within.
In our Bermuda Family Scrapbook: Material Memories workshop, participants will engage in excavating, sharing, and crafting short pieces of writing that explore the personal, intellectual, and historical associations they have with a precious family photograph. These photographs serve as vessels for our memories, carrying within them the essence of the people and events we hold dear.
Through this workshop, we invite you to become part of a collective narrative, weaving together the threads of personal and communal history. Your stories, anecdotes, and memories will contribute to the diverse narrative of Bermuda’s cultural heritage.
Location: Workshop sessions will be held at the Bermuda National Library.
Time Commitment: 2hrs per week for 4 weeks
Requirements: conversational English proficiency and must be at least 18 years or older.
Questions: Contact Deborah Atwood at curator@nmb.bm
