Early Bermuda Wills 1629-1835: summarized and indexed, a genealogical reference book

When the Bermuda Historical Quarterly was launched at the beginning of 1944, it was decided to reproduce the Minutes of the Governor’s Council. These began with the Minutes of the meeting of December 23, 1684. The transcriptions continued throughout the life of the Quarterly, ending in 1982 with the meeting of November 2, 1756. The publication of the Minutes was begun again in the first volume of this Journal, and continues here with the meetings from April 16, 1792 to June 20, 1793. With few exceptions, the original spelling of words found in the Minutes has not been modernised. During these meetings of Council, the Members discussed the amplification of preparations for the impending wartime efforts against France in the months to follow.
