Your Annual Appeal contributions significantly help with every aspect of the Museum: from maintenance of our 16-acre site and its 11 historic buildings and day-to-day operations, to sustaining our core work in cultural heritage preservation, research and education.

The National Museum needs to raise $2.5 million to repair and strengthen historic buildings battered by Hurricanes Fay, Gonzalo and Joaquin—and we need your help!
Three storms, in the space of a year, caused major structural damage to the roofs of Commissioner’s House, the Curatorial Department and the Museum’s student housing. The Museum’s insurance covers much of the repairs, but there are three large deductibles to pay, and while work is underway it is a prudent opportunity to upgrade our earlier restoration work and strengthen our position against future storms. This additional work includes replacement of the entire Commissioner’s House roof and restoration of the House’s cast iron frame, together with improving the Curatorial Department building—the heart of the Museum’s operations and where our collections are housed.
The NMB has a registered US 501(c)(3): The American Friends of the National Museum of Bermuda, which can raise funds for approved capital projects and accept other donations for the National Museum. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org on how to donate to the American Friends of NMB.
Much of our collection has been acquired through generous individuals. If you have items such as photographs and objects related to Bermuda’s cultural heritage please contact NMB Curator. Before we accept the item(s) we need to evaluate if it is in line with our collection policy and that we have the necessary resources to properly care and store it— it is not always possible for us to accept all object donations. If we are unable to accept the item(s) we will suggest alternative recipients, so please contact us if you have something to give. Unfortunately, the Museum cannot appraise the value of the donation or conduct appraisals on private collections. When donating an object please consider that the Museum does not benefit financially from a gift to the historical collection. In fact, by donating an object you are obligating the Museum to care for that object forever, and the related costs could be considerable. For more information contact: email@example.com
You may not have thought of including a gift to a museum in your will, but the NMB is a charity and legacies form an important source of funding for our work. Legacies of all sizes, large and small, make a real difference to what we can do and your support can help ensure that future generations enjoy the NMB as much as you have. For more information contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
Opportunities exist to volunteer and intern in different areas of the Museum, such as research, collection management, education, archaeology, tours and historic preservation. To find out what volunteer roles and internship opportunities are available, please contact email@example.com for further details.
