A Letter from Our Executive Director

Understanding and appreciating our history allows us to effectively confront the issues of the present, shape our identity and our lives, and strengthen our purpose in the world. That is why the Museum is committed to increasing engagement with, and understanding of, Bermuda’s diverse heritage and history – making it accessible and inclusive to all.

As the former NMB Curator, and now the Executive Director, I have seen first-hand how donations impact our ability to interpret, educate, collaborate, preserve, and inspire: we cannot do this without your support. Over the past year, donations to the Annual Appeal have funded archaeological excavations, publications, research, exhibitions, lectures, school group tours, conservation of irreplaceable historic artefacts, restoration of the Keep Fort, and the training of Bermudian students in museum practices.

To continue our important work, we need your help. I would like to ask that you consider a gift to the 2018 Annual Appeal. Your donation will allow us to preserve and share our heritage, and connect people to Bermuda’s past. After all, the ‘world is old, but the future springs from the past”. (Griot Mamadou Kouyaté, Sundiata: The Epic of Old Mali)

Thank you for supporting the National Museum of Bermuda.
